Friday we will have a quick quiz on the elements of art. Don't stress out, this won't be a hard quiz or take too long. After the quiz, we will have the rest of the period to finish the animal eyes. On monday, we will begin a new project.
Accidentally, I misplaced my USB drive with the powerpoint on it. Instead, I will write down the elements of art below:
LINE:Lines and curves are marks that span a distance between two points
SPACE:pace is an area that an artist provides for a particular purpose. Space includes the background, foreground and middle ground, and refers to the distances or area(s) around, between, and within things. There are two kinds of space: negative space and positive space. Negative space is the area in between, around, through or within an object. Positive spaces are the areas that are occupied by an object and/or form.
FORM:The form of a work is its shape, including its volume or perceived volume. A three-dimensional artwork has depth as well as width and height.
SHAPE:A shape is created when a line is enclosed.
VALUE:Value refers to relative lightness and darkness and is perceived in terms of varying levels of contrast.
TEXTURE:Texture refers to the tactile qualities of a surface (actual) or to the visual representation of such surface qualities (implied).
COLOR: Colors all come from the three primaries and black and white. They have three properties – hue, value, and intensity.
Primary colors: Red, yellow, blue
Secondary colors: Green, Orange, Violet,
Tertiary Colors: Blue-Green, Blue-Violet, Yellow-Green, Red-Orange, Red Violet
Points: 10
