Here are some of the things we are going to get accomplished for the 23rd of September.
Class staff will be voting on the Sports pages. We will decide as a class whether or not to have a space for the scores for every game. This is an in class discussion. I do want to say, to all those that are not a part of the yearbook staff reading this, if you are not a part of the yearbook staff, you have no say in the decisions that go on in my classroom. If you do want to have a say making these decisions and you are very passionate about the yearbook, you would be a great member of the staff for next year. :)
I also want to have a vote for collage with my collage page team. We will look at all your rough drafts and we will have a discussion on which one to use for every collage in the yearbook. Why do we have to have them the same? It's for consistency and harmony through the yearbook so that the pages do not become too chaotic. We will also add a 1/2 pica in between all the photos on the collage pages.
We will also start working on adding the name to the senior, sophmores, juniors, freshman, 8th, and 7th grade pictures. Mrs. Bolam was kind enough to get us a list of everyone that goes to this school, so we will start creating those pages today and I will assign these jobs to those that have the picture pages.
Those that didn't get their 2 rough draft layouts completed for yesterday's checkoff will work on those in class. Remember, finish the dealine zero pages first, since those are the pages that will be turned in November 11th. I put up a calendar in class that has all the deadlines on it and how many days we have left before each deadline. Once you get those pages done, check them off with me and I will give you a constructive critique.
Those that are done with their project zero pages will have two choices for work time in class. Either you do future layouts for the next deadlines or you work on editing your photos in photoshop.
Here is the photoshop tutorial:
1. Press Start on the bottom left hand of the screen.
2. Go to all programs and open the Abode Design Premium CS5 folder. Then, open Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 (the blue one!)
3.When Adobe opens up, to to FILE+OPEN+ and find the photo you want to open in the program. Double click the photo.
4. The crop tool can cut your canvas and make it so that you can fill the frame of your photo. You will be using this for you best photos.
5. If your photos are too dark, you will be adjusting the brightness using brightness/contrast or curves. You get to these by going IMAGE+ADJUSTMENTS+and brightness and contrast/curves is on the top. Don't make them too bright or contrasted, just edit only a little for the desired effect.
