We aren't done yet with ink! After Stipple is the famous cross hatch!
What is the cross hatch method?
The crosshatch method is when you have solid lines close together to give the illusion of shadows. By crossing lines together at different angles, you are able to get darker shades. There are many ways to crosshatch, as seen by the examples above. We know crosshatch to only be really neat lines crossing, but as long as the lines are close it is considered crosshatching, even if it looks more like a pattern. (look at the last 3 rows of crosshatch above)
For this assignment, you will be using the cross hatch technique with sharpie on Bristol board paper again.
The theme for this assignment is WINTER.
I want you to think about your winters. Is winter a time of great joy for you or a time of great depression? Is winter a magical wonderland or a symbol of cold cruel death? It's up to you! (Personally I like the fun happy holiday Christmas) I want you to draw what winter means to your heart!
